Moe Laufer on Saturday, June 22, 2013.  Born in Lemberg Poland he hid in the forests during WWII with the Partisans.  After the war he moved to a displaced persons camp in Heidenheim, Germany.  While there he met his future wife , Zenia (nee Widucki).  Together they emigrated to Haifa, Israel and were later married in Israel.  While in Israel he served in the Israeli Defense Force in the Negev and saw action during the Suez Crisis in 1956-1957.  He was honorably discharged from service with the rank of sergeant.  He and his wife left Israel shortly thereafter and came to the United States first settling in Newark in 1959.  Later they moved to Hillside and finally to Springfield in 1975.  Once in the U.S. he began to build a career and raise a family.  He opened the Terminal Seafood Restaurant in Irvington, N.J. which he owned for over 10 years.  After retiring he worked regularly for the Township of Springfield as a crossing guard for the past 15 years.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Zenia Laufer, his devoted children Sylvia Kessler and Aron Laufer and his dear brothers Max and Edward Laufer.  He is also survived by his three adoring grandchildren, David and Barry Kessler and Harris Laufer.

SHIVA: Will be observed at the home of Aron and Judy Laufer, 4 Essex Road, Springfield, N.J. 07081. There will be minyan services Monday and Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m..
