Allan T. Kovitz passed away suddenly on Friday, June 1, 2018.  He was 91. Born in Bayonne, N.J. he lived in Clark, N.J., then Cortland Manor, New York before moving to Livingston, N.J. in 2009.  He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University while serving in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was a systems engineer for I.B.M. in New York City and at its Cranford N.J. facility.  He also taught at Brooklyn Polytechnical and Stevens Institute.  After he retired he earned a law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law.  He was predeceased by his wife Selma (nee Frank) of 53 years and was survived by two daughters, Elaine (David) Rosenwald of Marlboro, N.J. and  Beth (“Chuck”) Fields of Livingston, N.J. along with  seven grandchildren, Elliot, Benjamin, Nathan, Esther, Naomi, Isaac, and Mikayla.
