Frances Goodman (aka Frenchie and Butterfly Nanny) Feigel bas Mordechai, was born in 1918 to Max and Mini Sohn.  She died on Friday, February 9, 2017 at her home in West Caldwell.  She was 99.  Born in the Bronx, New York she lived in Teaneck, NJ, Morristown, NJ, and Morris Plains, NJ where, for over 25 years, she raised her family before moving to Deerfield Beach, FL, West Orange, NJ. and finally to West Caldwell, NJ  6 years ago.  Fran was a funny, strong-willed, straight-shooting “Yiddishe Mama” who was beloved and will be missed by many.  She attended the Katherine Gibs Secretarial School and was a homemaker and an active member of numerous communal organizations including Hadassah, the Shalom Club, and the Sisterhood of the Morristown Jewish Center, all of Morristown, NJ, B’nai B’rith of Morris County NJ and the William Margulies Senior Center of the Jewish Community Center of MetroWest in West Orange, NJ.  Nanny was a gifted storyteller who enthralled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her recollections of her youth, including the time that she and her late husband, Jack Goodman, had an impromptu lunch with then-President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt.  She is survived by a son, David Goodman of Las Vegas, NV, two daughters, Renee (Howard) Spear of West Orange, NJ., and Barbara Parnes of Deerfield Beach, FL, six grandchildren, Pamela, Jennifer, Mindy, Jilli, Marc and Stacy and 12 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.  Rabbi Stanley Asekoff officiated at her levaya and a hesped was delivered by Mindy Reiss, her granddaughter from Chicago.  May her memory be for a blessing.
