Ruth J. Halperin passed away peacefully on December 19, 2014.  She was 96.  Born in Bayonne, N.J. she lived in Somerville, N.J. since 1948.  She graduated from New York University with a B.A. in Social Studies and a minor in English.  She went on to teach 8th grade English for over 20 years at the Branchburg Central School in Branchburg, N.J..  She was a life member of Hadassah, a founding member of both the Raye Molitz Chapter of Deborah and Temple Shalom, both of Somerville, N.J..  She is survived by her daughter, Harriet Naggar, of Scotch Plains, N.J.,  a son, Dr. Edward C. (Sharon) Halperin of Greenwich, CT., 10 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren and her son-in-law, Louis Brooks.  She is predeceased by her husband Irving Max Halperin and daughter Eleanor Brooks.
